eduroam

eduroam is the simple idea of a omni-present, secure and eayse network access for scientists all over the world. The preferred access method is WiFi as it is build into every common device nowadays.

eduroam is available at over 20 000 places worldwide. Apart from most major universities, colleges and research institutes you can find it increasingly also in public places like airports, train stations and city centers. A rough overview of places with eduroam can be found on the eduroam map.

eduroam is an international collaboration of hundreds of institutes based on a Service Policy contract. The central organisation lies with the eduroam Operations Team sponsored by GÉANT. Organisation and infrastructure in Germany is done by the DFN Verein.. A detailed overview about the politics behind eduroam is given on the official internationale Website.
